February 22nd marked the first of a series of events supporting animal charities in collaboration with the sampling of fine spirits. We were so excited to launch with "Whiskey & Wolves", with whiskey provided by Clyde May's and a special wolf from Guardians of The Wolves. This free member event was also open to friends of members and the tickets sold benefitted the wolves.
Our sold-out evening featured donated appetizers from Barragan's Mexican Restaurant and the whiskey tasting presented by Kirk Gaither of Clyde May's Whiskey. All those who participated got to sample the "Alabama Style", the Straight Bourbon, and their Special Reserve 110-proof whiskey. Clyde May's also generously donated a bottle of the 110 Special Reserve for a raffel, which was won by the lucky Kolja Erman from DreamWorks Animation.
While the food and whiskies were fantastic, the special highlight of the evening was the 2-year-old rescued Grey and Arctic Wolf, Novi. He is a friendly, wonderful ball of energy and beautiful animal. Novi came to us through the amazing non-profit, Guardians of The Wolves and the proceeds from the evening went to this wonderful charitable organization. We were thrilled to have raised almost $600 for them.
It was a great first event in this series and we're looking forward to our other upcoming events at The Muse Rooms Burbank.
